SUMMARY:National Tree Planting Day 2019
DESCRIPTION:Join Frasers Property and the City of Mandurah at the Frasers Landing Core Conservation Area this National Tree Day. \nBy planting a tree this July\, you’re helping to preserve and protect pristine bushland along the Serpentine River. This bushland is home to iconic and threatened tree species\, like Tuart trees and Banksia woodland. It also provides important habitat\, shelter and food for native birds and wildlife\, such as Ospreys\, Honey Possums\, Quenda\, Brushtail Possums and Black Cockatoos – just to name a few! \nNational Tree Day is a fun day for the whole family to get out and about in nature. This planting day is supported by the Peel Harvey Catchment Council through the Alcoa Foundation Serpentine River project and Treemission\, a tree planting conservation initiative. \nWHAT TO BRING \nEnsure you wear appropriate planting gear; enclosed shoes (sneakers or boots)\, long sleeved shirts or jackets\, long pants\, hat\, sunglasses and sunscreen. Please bring a reusable drink bottle and coffee cup. \nDIRECTIONS \nComing off Mandurah Road\, turn onto Coodanup Drive. follow it down to the end roundabout where it meets Wanjeep Street. Take the 2nd exit into Landings Boulevard. Coming from Old Pinjarra Road\, turn onto Wanjeep Street\, Continue through to the second roundabout and take the first exit onto Landings Boulevard. At Landings Boulevard\, you will see a large glass building on your left. Please use the parking bays provided and register at the registration tent. The Mandurah Fun Train will be around to transport participants to designated planting and activity sites. \nACTIVATIONS \nJust some of the amazing activities: – Mandurah Tourist Fun Train – Fun sports and obstacle course – Learn about Mandurah’s Mosquitos at the Mossie Tent – Meet Mandurah wildlife with Critters up Close – Dudley Dolphin activities – Learn about wildlife first aid with Mandurah Wildlife Centre – Food stalls – Coffee Van (please bring your reusable coffee cup!) – Water (please bring your reusable water bottle!) Please wear appropriate planting gear: enclosed shoes- sneakers or boots\, long sleeved shirts or jackets\, long pants\, hat\, glasses and sunscreen. \nWHAT’S PROVIDED \nGloves\, tools and equipment for planting\, watering cans / buckets\, drinking water\, and refreshments. \n  \n
